The best thing about anime is that there is no limitations when it comes to creativity and there is no obstacle to create the world that the anime creators want to show. Sci-fi is the genre that explore that creativity in the best way possible in the world of anime and that’s what makes it the best genre of them all.
We saw many sci-fi anime in 2019 and there were many that became our favorite. We have made a list of 5 best among them. The list below includes the anime that were loved the most by the fans of sci-fi.
No Guns Life
A Corporation named Berhuren invents a new technology that creates cyborgs for war called Extended who were used in wars. Since the wars have been ended, Extendeds separated, looked as a terrifying creatures and some of them involved in criminal acts. One Extended, Juzou who has a gun for a head and have no idea about his past. He works as a detective and takes the cases that involves Extended and have the permission to act as Extended.
He encounters with another Extended who is wanted. Juzou, who prioritize the work ethics and and have good sense of good and evil, thinks that there is something wrong with the mysterious Extended being chased and so agrees to help him and find the reason for him being wanted as after getting involved he is also being chased.
No guns No Life is an unforgettable anime of 2019. The theme of the anime is dark and depicts the same with its visuals. It is full of mystery and suspense that keeps the viewers captivated. It is highly recommended to the sci-fi fans.

Dr. Stone
The high school student Senku, who is a science genius and his friend Taiju are living the normal school lives until one day when Taiju finally decided to express his feelings to his crush, something struck the earth and every human on earth turned into stone.
After thousand years Taiju manages to get free from the stone and find himself alone the strange world. Although he was wrong Senku had already woken up and was waiting for him. He is on the mission to revive the humanity and the technology through his k knowledge of science. Taiju is extremely thrilled to know this. But, everyone does not wake up with the same vision on mind and the hardships are increased.
Fans of science fiction will find the world of Dr. Stone very interesting and different. There is also so much information regarding science and its evolution as Senku creates different inventions from scratch and explains his experiments. Apart of that, it is a shounen anime so have all those elements as well which include action, comedy, romance and drama. But it is more than just a shounen anime.

Promare
Burnish is the race of mutants who suddenly shows up and turns half of the human population into fire-wielding being. Burnish returns after thirty years but are handled by firefighters called Burning Rescue. Galo joins the Burning Rescue and is strong willed young man who takes inspiration from Kray Foresight, head of the Republic of Promepolis who save Galo.
Currently the biggest threat to the country is a terrorist group called Mad Burnish led by Lio. Galo sets out to find everything about the organization, mutants and the cause of their attacks. When he dig deep, he finds out the truth that will make him wonder about everything around him.
Produced by TRIGGER, Promare is one of the best anime of 2019. It relates to the real world and is full of suspense. The action scene are very thrilling and animation is also very good. It is highly recommended to the anime fans.

Kanata no Astra (Astra Lost in Space)
Set in the year 2063 the technology has made the advancement to the extent that travelling space is very common. School kids go on trips on space. Caird High school send 9 students of Group B-5 for the trip to McPal which is headed by Astra who is an athlete and a very good leader. Unluckily, they are transported to the void space through a black hole. But they manage to get to a spaceship that seems to be abandoned. They come to know that they are at the distance of one-thousand light years from their home.
They make plan to return home as they are very intelligent and are under the leadership of Astra. But they had no idea about the sphere that threw them so far. As things don’t work out the way they plan they learn some mysterious things about themselves, each other and the abandoned spaceship.
The plots twists of Kanata no Astray are mind blowing and the animation is very attractive. The anime has all entertaining elements which include comedy, romance and drama and there is also a climax. It is one of the best anime of its writer.

Carole & Tuesday
All humans are transferred to the Mars and living their like they used to live on Earth. I the world of advanced technology, the music is created and sung by AI. A girl from a rich family background leaves her home with the old fashioned acoustic guitar to enter the world of music. She meets Carole who plays piano and together they create melodious music better than the AI. But there are some hardships.
The anime is created by Shinichirou Watanabe who loves to make sci-fi anime. Carole and Tuesday is one of the best and unforgettable anime of 2019. The music and the songs are great, the story is very interesting and heartwarming and the animation is gorgeous. Anyone who is into music, sci-fi and beautiful animation would definitely enjoy this masterpiece.

As mentioned earlier there were many sci-fi that were released in the past year and other then this list there are some anime worth mentioning which include Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Psycho Pass, Sword Art Online: Alicization and Symphogear XV.
