Anticipated to debut on TV Tokyo, BS TV Tokyo, and other stations this April, the anime is expected to draw a significant following with its unique storyline and characters.

Production Team and Musical Contributions

Seasoned director Jin Gu Oh, renowned for his work on the Beyblade Burst series, is at the helm of the “Oi! Tonbo” anime, produced by OLM Studio. Scriptwriting and storytelling will be orchestrated by Mitsutaka Hirota, whose portfolio includes the likes of “Sweetness & Lightning” and “Rent-A-Girlfriend”. The character renditions are the creative work of Akira Takeuchi, with a team of skilled artists leading various visual and audio aspects of the production, promising a feast for the senses.

The opening theme, “Habatake” (Spread Your Wings), will feature the music duo Sacre e sole, setting an energizing tone for the episodes. Adding to the auditory charm, TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI is set to deliver the anime’s ending theme, “Let’s Swing.”

A Tale of Talent and Turmoil

Our story introduces us to Igarashi, a former professional golfer whose career was derailed by controversy. In search of a quieter life, he relocates to Japan’s untouched Tokara Islands. There, he meets Tonbo, a girl with a natural gift for golf, whose innocent love for the game is only matched by her mysterious past. Despite her exceptional ability, showcased on a rustic, handmade golf course, Tonbo’s choice to exclusively use a 3-iron raises questions and uncovers underlying struggles.

The creative minds behind the manga, Kawasaki and Furusawa, first shared this intriguing narrative in Weekly Golf Digest back in August 2014. The manga series has enjoyed sustained popularity, and its 48th volume was published on December 27th.
