On Thursday the team of the 2020 Doraemon movie named Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Shin Kyoryū declared that Takuya Kimura is going to join as a temporary cast member in the movie and he is going to voice the character of Gil who is a doubtful man who’s appearance is like a monkey. He monitors Nobita’s behavior and has the secret of a strange island. This voice over will be the 3rd voice over role in an anime movie after 2004’s Howl’s Moving Castle and 2010’s Redline and in a decade it will be his first such role.

On March 6 the movie will be released.

The story of the movie starts with Nobita meeting up with two dinosaurs named Kyu and Muy who are twins. Even with the movies similar in title to Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Dinosaur the primary movie of the franchise the story plot is wholly poles apart. The new movie is the 40th movie of the franchise and it highlights the 50th anniversary of the manga.

The 40th movie is being directed by Kazuaki Imai who is the episode director of the anime series Doraemon and he was also the director of 2018’s movie Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island. From the 2018 movie Genki Kawamura is also coming back to wrote the script of the new movie. For the movie Mr. Children will be presenting the subsequent theme song called Kimi to Kasaneta Monologue and will also present the other theme song called Birthday of the movie. According to the authorized website of the movie this is the first time that movie Doraemon will comprise of two theme songs. It also highlights that it will be the first time that Mr. Children is going to present two theme songs in one week.

In September a manag version based on the movie was commenced in the Coro Coro Comics. The manga is being illustrated by Shintarō Mugiwara who is the last trainee of Fujiko F. Fujio.

On November 30 a different manga version made by Ran Tokiwa enrolled in a high school was commenced in the Shogakukan’s Ciao magazine. The manga is being penned by Genki Kawamura and Shintarō Mugiwara is ascribed for the collaboration on the manga.

On March 5 a Nintendo Switch game will be premiered based by the movie in Japan a day before the releasing of the movie. The action adventure game is being originated by FuRyu.
