Sumikko Gurashi Film Rises to #2, French City Hunter Film Debuts

The anime movie Eiga Sumikko Gurashi: Tobidasu Ehon to Himitsu no Ko of the characters from the Sumikko Gurashi by San-X came back to 2nd position from 4th in its fourth week and vend out 121,000 tickets. From Friday to Sunday the movie generated 130,778,700 yen. All over the movie has vended over 700,000 tickets and generated aggregate profit of 857,196,900 yen by 716,224 tickets

The movie got the 3rd position in its starting week. On November 8 the movie was released in Japan in 118 cinemas. The movie vended 104,000 tickets and generated 121 million yen throughout the week but from Friday to Sunday of that week it vended 114,280 tickets and generated 132,873,500 yen. According to the estimation of Eiga.com the movie will ultimately generate 1 billion yen

The movie was directed at Fanworks by Mankyū. The script was written by Takashi Sumita. The art director was Kaori Hino.

The story of the movie starts when the characters of Sumikko Gurashi discover a strange photo album in the crypt of the café they always go. The movie comprise of new settings, things and characters.

The live action French movie Nicky Larson et le Parfum de Cupidon of the manga City Hunter by Tsukasa Hojo vended 38,676 tickets and generated 47,883,700 yen in the first three days. It got the 8th position in its starting week in Japan. Although the movie is for those who are in their 30s and 40s and are well known from the real manga and anime series, in the weekend people in their 20s were also witness in the screening of the movie. Last Friday, November 29 the movie was released in Japan on 102 screens.

The movie’s Japanese name is City Hunter the Movie: Shijō Saikō no Mission. The French name of the City Hunter franchise is Nicky Larson also the French name of the main character Ryō Saeba. The movie is being distributed in Japan by Albatros Film.

The live action movie adaptation starred Nicky Larson by Philippe Lacheau. The movie also starred Tarek Boudali and Élodie Fontan. The movie is penned by Philippe Lacheau and Pierre Lacheau along with the author and actor Julien Arruti.

The anime movie Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata fine inspired by the novel series Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend by Fumiaki Maruto dropped to 9th position from 7th position in its sixth week. From Friday to Sunday the movie generated 32,780,400 yen and generated aggregate profit of 604,313,480 yen.

The film was released at the 5th position in Japan. On Saturday and Sunday it generated 136,362,600 yen. On October 26 the movie was released on 121 screens.

The movie was directed at CloverWorks and the head director was Kanta Kamei and Akihisa Shibata was the director. To write the script of the movie Fumiaki Maruto came back and he characters were again designed by Tomoaki Takase. The movie is being distributed by Aniplex.

In its seventh week the Star Twinkle Precure: Hoshi no Uta ni Omoi wo Komete fell out from the top 10 list once again after it came back for just one week in its sixth week.

The OVA Re:Zero Hyōketsu no Kizuna of the Re:Zero franchise is now out from the top 10 list but from Friday to Sunday it generated 13,802,900 yen in is fourth week and generated an aggregate profit of 251,860,200 yen.

The first of the five scheduled assembled movie Gekijōban Gundam G no Reconguista I: Ike! Core Fighter of the anime series Gundam Reconguista in G was premiered at 1st position in the small cinema ranking in its starting week. Last Friday, November 29 the movie was released in Japan.

In its second week the anime version of manga Fragtime by Sato fell to the 2nd position from 1st position in the small cinema ranking.
