War between these three waged repeatedly because the balance of power among the three was delicate. To make things worse, a corrupt dragon, Daganzord, also lived on the continent and apparently no one in the three kingdoms stands a chance in defeating that dragon. On one day a group of sorcerers tried to defeat the dragon but they failed. This event in history is called the Balbagoa Tragedy, this event was bold but a huge mistake. Bairo and Kismitete lost their lives who were considered one of the best at that time. Their offspring swear to take vengeance their forefathers by training and when they are able to fight they go on the adventure to challenge the dragon.
GRANBLUE FANTASY Season 2 and Seisen Cerberus are both set in a fantasy world. Along the line, the characters are introduced with variety of character with different personalities, which are met in every different location they went. Although both anime have different age ratings, both anime shares the moral determination and survival both are vital, particularly when a monster tries to disrupt the future of the universe.
Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa (Castle in the Sky)
The world of Castle in the skies exist in the skies, far above the surface of land like in the Granblue Fantasy. A young girl, named Sheeta for whom life is all about flying and rising above in the skies. She is kidnapped by an illicit organization who wants her enigmatic charm. She gets lucky when a group of pirates attacks the ship. She takes that as a chance to escape and meets a boy, Pazu who wants to travel to the famous flying castle, Laputa. They both begins their journey together but they are not the only two people who are seeking Laputa. The government authorities are also in search of the same castle. That’s when their journey becomes adventurous.
The characters of Castke in the Sky and the group of GRANBLUE FANTASY Season 2 is quite nostalgic in terms of simple technology and old computer graphic visuals. So many things are shown in this adventurous fantasy world with vibrant colors and beautiful landscape. The character Pazu, is pretty much like Katalina, spirited and dauntless. While and Lyria are same as both are lively and eager and since they both have some mysterious abilities, their companions enjoys the adventurous journey.
Erementar Gerad (Elemental Gelade)
Elemental Gelade tells the story of Coud Van Giruet who is one of the member of sky pirates called Red Lynx. Once, during his regular examination, Coud discovers something strange in the shipment and mistakenly wakes Ren, “Edel Reid,” who is popular for bestowing tremendous fighting powers to their companions. Coud finds out that there is more to Ren that he is known for and it is revealed very soon when the Edel Reid Complete Protection Agency “Arc Aire” pay them a visit on the ship. When they fail to buy Ren, something strange strikes the ship. That’s when Coud becomes protector of Ren
Both GRANBLUE FANTASY Season 2 and Elemental Gelade are about tale of young men who like to travel through the skies. Both encounter female character with mysterious powers. They become good friends and starts an adventurous journey. Both shows are entertaining and interesting
Chain Chronicle: Haecceitas no Hikari (Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas)
Chain Chronicle: Haecceitas no Hikari is set in a place called Yuguto. The inhabitants of this place think that it is as big as the world but that is not true. Yuguto is separated into many regions and every region has their own king. For obvious reasons, there are some conflicts among the kingdoms which are resolved with the meetings held regularly for the sake of peace. That peace is broken by some dark forces that invades Yuguto.
One common thing about both GRANBLUE FANTASY Season 2 and Chain Chronicle: Haecceitas no Hikari is that they both are adapted from video game. The world of both series is adventurous and action-packed with elements of fantasy that makes it dramatic and full of suspense with unpredictable plot. They also share similarities in terms of visuals with bright colors and lively background music.
