Fullmetal Alchemist Filler – Complete Filler Guide

Hiromu Arakawa created the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist. It is based on an ongoing manga series, with the first volumes published as graphic novels. The story revolves around the adventures of two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric. They’re looking for the Philosopher’s Stone, which will allow them to reclaim their bodies after a failed attempt to use alchemy to bring their mother back to life.

Fullmetal Alchemist Plot

The plot follows the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse, as they try to bring their mother back to life using alchemy. Alphonse loses his body in the process, and Edward loses his leg; Edward attaches Alphonse’s soul to a suit of armor to save it. They both set off on a journey in order to find the Philosopher’s Stone.

In an alternate world, the Fullmetal Alchemist series is set in the fictional country of Amestris, where alchemy is one of the most advanced scientific techniques. Alchemy is also frequently used as a weapon by the military and is similar to modern-day weaponry.

Fullmetal Alchemist’s manga is still in progress, and the story hasn’t been entirely converted into an anime series yet. Filler episodes (which have no bearing on the overall plot) have been added to the series to make it longer. Fans of the series typically feel that these fillers are unnecessary. Many appear to be made to extend the run time rather than to advance the story or develop characters.

Episode 4: A Forger’s Love

When the Elric brothers arrive in a village, they quickly observe that the people are frightened of them and refuse to speak to them. After that, Ed and Al discover Claus, who is being bullied by several of the kids. When she sees them, she runs away quickly, but Ed follows her. Later that night, while everyone else is sleeping, a woman is seen being attacked by an invisible force.

Ed meets Claus the next day and asks if she wants to go out with him. She agrees, so they head into the woods, where Ed convinces her that he can help her with the zombies that have taken over the town. They return to the village and meet Majhal, who turns out to be an alchemist rather than a legend as most people assume. He tells them that he is unaware

of any zombies in the town or what happened to Karin.

Majhal demonstrates to Ed how he can use his alchemy to turn corpses into statues, then transforms Karin’s body back into a “alive” human form (which freaks out Claus). Claus believes it is Karin until it attacks her father and he understands it is no longer his daughter but something else entirely (a Homunculus).

This episode is categorized as a filler because it has no connection to the series’ plot. The only scene that appears to be taken from the manga is the one with Majhal and his son, which adds nothing to the plot. Its sole objective is to get Ed and Al into this settlement and give them some Homunculi battles (this one being a little more powerful).

Since we already know what happened with their mother and father’s death, the purpose of this episode was to provide some background information on the Elric brothers. It also provides us a sense of who alchemists are in this world, as they appear to have a lot of power over ordinary people. You don’t truly see how alchemy affects people until later in “Fullmetal Alchemist.”

Episode 10: The Phantom Thief

Ed is eager to continue their journey after stopping at Reole, but Al is tired of being in the rain and advises they spend their time in a town named Aquroya instead, which is a tourist destination where they can rest. Ed gets water splashed on him by a passing car the night before they arrive, and he uses Alchemy to clean himself up, leading the police to believe that he is the one who stole their jewels and they start hunting him. When Ed arrives in Aquroya, a girl named Clara, who has an accent similar to his mother’s, helps him get better with an injection, and Al is drawn to her generosity, so Ed decides to stay in Aquroya for a time.

This episode is a filler because it adds nothing to the plot. There is a reason for this filler episode and it is because in manga, it was replaced by another in which Ed and Al face Shou Tucker from the State Alchemist system.

Local cops who are too lazy and incompetent to arrest a thief after she used Alchemy, so they turn to the Elrics for assistance. This episode is filler in the sense that it adds nothing to the plot and is a pointless episode in the sense that it doesn’t advance the plot or develop any of the characters. In this episode, Ed meets Clara, an Alchemist who reminds him of his mother because of her kindness. This episode’s ending has nothing to do with the ending of its manga counterpart, “Fullmetal Alchemist: Drifting Island.”

Episode 37: The Flame Alchemist, The Bachelor Lieutenant, and the Mystery of Warehouse 13

This episode focuses on the Mustang Unit, which is tasked with the responsibility of monitoring Mustang’s every move and reporting back on their findings. The group of junior officers entrusted to the mission are all old friends of the Colonel, and they are all involved in the investigation for personal reasons. This episode focuses on the personal interactions among the Mustang Unit’s members.

Lt. Havoc and his struggle to keep a girlfriend, as well as his current relationship with Sheska, are the main focus. Havoc tries to get Sheska to come out with him, but she declines owing to her job commitments that night. When Havoc returns home, he discovers a message from Mustang informing him that he will be dining with Falman’s sister. We find Falman seeking for an attractive female for Havoc immediately after this incident, having borrowed Armstrong’s younger sister to get her out of Armstrong’s hair. During her date with Mustang, she reveals that she heard about a gorgeous woman working at the Court Martial Office who was also a good dancer/cheerleader, leading Mustang to believe that Sheska could be the woman for Havoc because she must already know her. He approaches Sheska to discuss getting together with another military member at some point (Presumably Breda). We find Breda conversing with Fuery a few scenes later, and Fuery informs Breda that Falman is looking for gorgeous girls for Havoc, and they decide to follow him to see if they can help.

This is a filler episode, as there is no meaningful storyline to move the story forward. The animators included this episode to explain the relationship between Havoc and Sheska, as well as Mustang and his Unit.

This episode is filler, but it does give us a glimpse of Sheska’s personality, something we haven’t seen much of up until now. Havoc also can’t retain a relationship since he’s a womanizer who drives women away by talking about the military. It didn’t contain any significant events. Its only plot was to depict the relationship between Havoc and Sheska. Mustang, too, is unable to maintain a relationship since he is constantly working.
