Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045’s Latest Film Offers First Look

Bandai Namco Filmworks’ Emotion label has tantalized fans by streaming the initial 12 minutes of “Kōkaku Kidōtai SAC_2045 Saigo no Ningen” (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 The Last Human), the second season’s compilation film for the anime Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, on its official YouTube channel.

Released for a limited three-week engagement in 30 theaters across Japan, the film debuted with much anticipation. Accompanied by the soul-stirring “Secret Ceremony” and “No Time to Cast Anchor” theme songs by Millennium Parade, the film sets an evocative tone for its viewers.

The anime’s first season made its global debut on Netflix in April 2020, featuring 12 episodes. Its compilation film, “Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War,” followed with a special two-week screening in November 2021 across 20 Japanese theaters, later streaming on Netflix in May 2022.

The eagerly awaited second season premiered worldwide on Netflix in May 2022. Helmed by directors Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, the anime is a production marvel from studios Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts. Russian illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov crafted the character designs, while the musical landscape is shaped by the talented Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi, creating an immersive world for fans and newcomers alike.
