Chapter 22 of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den was quite an emotional chapter. The episode was disappointing in any way. While Hachimaru’s battle continue with the samurai, he realizes that the princess is releasing strong blessings to Hachimaru to strengthen him. We get to see flashbacks of Anns with her brother, Nanashi (which means nameless like other no-name samurai) throughout this period. Ann’s brother really loved his sister as aimed to become a samurai, not because of the status but for his sister’s protection from all kind of evil. Unluckily, his journey of becoming a Samurai led to his death which made Ann devastated and so she tried to forget him. After meeting Hachimaru, he reminded her of his brother and what made him so passionate about becoming a Samurai. This made her determined to become a princess and to support and protect our Samurai at all cost. All she wants is to strengthen her with her brother. With such determination, Hachimaru grew stronger and prevailed over his opponent with a final blow. Now that he has won, what is in store for Hachimaru and Ann in the next chapter? We’ll have to wait until next chapter comes out.

The battle between Hachimaru and Samurai was shortly paused for us to take a look into the Ann’s past history with her dead brother. It was definitely worth it and very emotional. A short story of her brother made our eyes filled with tears. We could feel Ann’s grief as she reminiscent about her brother. With Hachimaru by her side, her past will always stay with her even if it was painful.

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den has revealed what Hachimaru is truly battling for. But in Chapter 22 we come to know about Ann’s true desires and determination. The death of her brother left her in grief that she found it difficult to move forward in her life but, when Hachimaru is with her she will be able to move forward and be strong. Ann is determined to become a strong princess and support Hachimaru in future.

Chapter 22 of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den was all about Ann and it was the best time to show her past. We come to know about her lost brother and why she determined to support Hachimaru and to become his princess.  Fortunately, Ann’s powerful boons helped Hachimaru win the fight but what comes next in their journey.
