To the delight of its audience, the anime’s second installment kicked off in Japan, continuing the intriguing narrative of the first season.

Returning Talents and New Tunes

Yoshimasa Hosoya joins an established cast of returning actors, a testament to the success of the series’ first season. Not only is the cast making a comeback, but the production staff also remains consistent, promising to maintain the show’s charismatic essence.

This season’s musical landscape is reshaped with ‘Atarayo’ presenting the compelling opening theme “Boku wa…” (I Am…), while the talented Kohana Lam graces the ending with her song “Koi Shiteru Jibun Sura Aiserunda” (I Can Even Love My Loving Self). Lam’s graceful voice is no stranger to fans, having already charmed listeners with her performance of the first season’s ending theme “Suu Sentimental”.

Expanding the Universe with ‘Twi-Yaba’

The manga’s comedic spin-off, “Twi-Yaba,” has not missed the spotlight, receiving its animated adaptation that premiered on December 10, much to the enjoyment of followers of the “The Dangers in My Heart” universe.

The initial season launched a successful debut on TV Asahi and its affiliates as part of the “NUMAnimation” programming block on April 1. As the series aired in Japan, international audiences were given the chance to keep pace through HIDIVE’s streaming services.

Manga’s Reach

Internationally, the gripping manga series has been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment, bringing the quirky story of Ichikawa Kyotaro to English-speaking readers.

They describe the plot as a captivating narrative centered around a boy named Ichikawa Kyotaro. Sitting precariously on the lowest tier of his school’s social hierarchy, Kyotaro indulges in fantasies where he sees himself as the star of a psychological saga.

He whiles away his hours concocting schemes to unsettle the peaceful lives of his classmates, all the while harboring an infatuation for class idol, Anna Yamada. However, Kyotaro’s image as the anguished protagonist is far from reality…and it turns out, Anna has her own peculiar quirks!

The creative mind behind the series, Sakurai, originally launched the manga in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in March 2018. The series moved to the Champion Cross manga website the following April, only to join Manga Cross, upon the merger of Champion Cross with Champion Tap!, in July that same year.
