Josee, the Tiger and the Fish to Receive Anime Adaptation

The novel Josee, the Tiger and the Fish (Jose to Tora to Sakana-tachi) is going to be adapted into animated movie.

The novel which was published in 1984 is one of the best work of the deceased author Seiko Tanabe who has also won the prize for her great work. The novel thells the story of a handicapped girl with wheelchair, named Josee who begin to get the exposure of the world outside after encountering a university student, Tsuneo.

The anime has also revealed a teaser which shows Josee sitting at the desk on her wheelchair.

The anime film will be animated by Bones and directed by Kotaro Tamura.

Sayaka Kuwamura will be writing the script, who has written many live action movies and series. Nao Sakamoto, (who worked for O Maidens in Your Savage Season) is in charge of the original character design, Haruko Iizuka is the general art director. The music will be given by Evan Call (Violet Evergarden)

The movie will get the theatrical release in Japan in 2020. Moreover, manga adaptation is also announced to be released soon.
