How Do We Relationship? revolves around Miwa and Saeko. It tells the story about their usual way of getting together, followed by the hardships they face while dating each other. Every problem that they face in the series is equally significant that they deal with. How they face and react to those issues is very close to reality and including the reactions of the supporting characters. It does not only deal with the problems they face but there are also many fortunate situations as well. Good thing is that their friends are not mean and are very nice with them who support their relationship.
There is a lot of steamy stuff in the series right from the start till the end as it ends with the equal amount of sexual content. It’s not pornographic but there are many detailed erotic scenes. These scenes are not pointless and are related to the story.
The relationship of Miwa and Saeko depicts the real life relationship and its consequences of homosexual couple. The depiction of hardships they face is quite accurate that any gay/lesbian couple would relate to. We have seen lesbian and gays like Miwa who is not confident enough to openly tell about their sexuality because they think society won’t accept them and they will be treated as outcast. Moreover, Seako being considered as some kind of beast and then being treated as she is nobody leaving her alone is also close to reality. Every issued depicted in the series is very much related to the real life issues that are experienced by real life people.
When it comes to the part when they fall for each other and start the relationship, it all happens very quickly. After getting drunk, they start dating each other after meeting couple of times. That is something that seems fictional as two strangers do not start dating each other like that. Although, in the end of the book, the manga has explained the logic behind that but if you like to read the love stories with slow paced build-up of the story before relationship begins then you might not like it.
How Do We Relationship? Is the reality-based story of the hardships and problems the gay/lesbian couple face in the society. The starting of the story might seems fast-paced and too odd to happen in the real life but soon when the relationship starts, it becomes very interesting and relatable. It’s just the first volume and it would be a bit too early to rate the series but it’s an interesting read.
