High Score Girl II Episode 8: review

It’s finally tournament day. But before all the madness we got see some cute moments. That hair though! At that moment felt like she would speak but instead she bit Haruo. Thankfully the episode began from the scene that ended the last episode although I expected that it would just skip all nice things and get to the tournament. But there was more romantic and cute moments between them where they got closer to each other. But they ended spending sleepless night because of that. Well what can we say, they are just kids!

So here we are again with the tournament of Street Fighter II with the reward of shine trophy and bath set. It’s highly desirable for a guy, I don’t understand why. But I’m sure he can get it very easily from any place.

Shockingly, Akira couldn’t make it and lost the first match. It was equally shocking for Haruo when he can to know that. Haruo was winning against the competitors but Akira was eliminated. I do not know much about the tournammta and so I forgot about the loser brackets which is an opportunity for her. But that doesn’t change the fact that she lost and that makes her really sad. How could she possibly lose the first match! She was excited to have the final match with Haruo and winning against him as she promised but she already got eliminated and now she doesn’t feel confident enough. But thanks to Zangief and others, she felt energetic and confident after recalling the time she won against Hidaka. She didn’t went through all that for nothing and can’t just give up now. She will have to push all limits if she wants to compete and win against Haruo. She has got Zangief‘s support

Haruo was unhappy but his emotions changed when he watched Akira winning against every opponent, he sees a different side of her. She was acting like the same way she once used to and according Haruo when she used to see him as a dirt. But this time it was her opponents in place of him that she wants to crush as if it’s nothing. I can’t help but cheer for her. But unfortunately it won’t be the final that she will compete against him. I was pissed off when he said that he will have the match against her in the semifinals. Although their match was very much like the final and almost forgot that it’s the semifinals match.

Akira will definitely go hard on him. But I didn’t expect her to win the first round in just few seconds. But Haruo isn’t going to go easy on her if he is going to lose, he fight till the end. The episode ended and I can’t stop thinking about the finale. It’s hard to wait as this match is getting more and more exciting. Then there is thing about her parents’ plan. Can’t wait to see Haruo’s reaction as soon as he knows about it. There is some much to happen in just a finale?

It seems like a few OVA episodes are on the way just like season 1. That’s good but it would be better if we got to watch it completely. But if it’s for the completion of the story then it’s fine. For all I can think about is the finale.
