‘Dragon Ball Super: Broly’ Goes Big First Day With $7 Million Worldwide

The infamous anime movie “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” opened impressively with a total of $7 million on its first day in North America on Wednesday 16th January 2019 at 1,260 locations.

“Dragon Ball Super: Broly,” which screened at 180 Imax and Cinemark XD format screens with the English Dubbed Version, among the top 10 movies it generated by far the best pre-screen average of $5,695. The total for the first day matched the entire two-week run of the release of Funimation’s “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F” in 2015.

This movie has already grossed $53 Million internationally at the time of writing, including a whooping $29 millon in Japan itself.

It was mentioned by the CEO and president of Funimation, Gen Fukumaga, that the response from anime and mainstream audience has been overly positive to “Dragon Ball Super: Broly”. Further more he added that ” We anticipated a strong opening, but we’re thrilled that the box office exceeded even the high end of our estimate. We’re thrilled to hear that countless fans have or plan to watch the film multiple times. Fans are at the core of our strategy for this film.”

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is the 20th in the Dragon Ball Series. Its written by Akira Toriyama and directed by Tatsuya Nagamine. This movie follows the previous Dragon Ball Super movie in which Goku and Vegeta have a massive fight with a new Saiyan called Broly.
