Inosuke Hashibira

In Japan, during Taisho era, skulk some ghastly demons. Tanjiro who sells charcoal for the living becomes Demon Slayer after his family was murdered and his sister, Nezuko was turned into a demon and joins Demon Slyer Corp to save his sister and find a way to turn her back into a human. Later, he gets acquitted with other members of the Corp and one of those members is Inosuke. A swordsman with bad-tempered and puts on a boar head, keeps daring Tanjiro for combats. He joins Tanjiro in the quest to cure Nezuko and kill the demon who is responsible for that.

Inosuke was raised in the mountains with only animals around him. He never had the chance to study proper fighting techniques like water breathing and thunder breathing which are practiced by Tanjiro and Zenitsu respectively. He created a new technique of his own, beast breathing, which helps him discover any danger hiding anywhere, through his intense sense of touch. So far, the most amusing technique that we have witnessed is the ‘special awareness’ that he practiced to detect the Spider Mother demon in the woods who was crawling alongside other hideous beings.

Inosuke possess a very stubborn attitude which has their own good sides as well as bad ones. During the Final Selection exam instead of following the standard steps to be successful he follows his own rules by taking down every demon he comes across. He also denies to accept the fact that Nezuko is harmless when Tanjiro and Zenitsu tries to explain it to him and decides to kill her. Luckily, as time passes his harsh personality becomes softer, especially when Tanjiro acknowledges him after the spider demon arc

Despite having overly muscular body, Inosuke’s face appears to be good looking and little bit feminine. His good looking face features which includes lavish hair and long lashes are hidden underneath a boar head, but when his face is finally revealed, nobody is able to deny how charming he is. We wanted to watch more of his unmasked scenes!

With the all the disrespectful and cheeky attitude, Inosuke is pleased with all the normal comfort of life, and not only that but he enviously likes being complimented by people. If he experiences something unusual but delightful, for example getting to know about tempura or being appreciated by Tanjiro, he sigh with gratification and small puffballs are floating near his head slowly upwards. These scenes are even more enjoyable due to the fact his mask stays on!

Taisho-era was the point in time where Japan was changing from its classic lifestyle to a more modern technological enhanced society, so guy like Tanjiro who has been living in urban regions his whole life was very much surprised to see lights powered through electricity and western clothing. But someone like Inosuke who has been confined in mountains for more likely his life until now, so in terms of being oblivious he is on a completely different level. His unawareness towards the modern society can be judged by the fact that he challenged a train to a combat in the final episode of the first season (with the thought that it’s a ghost like creature harmful to land). But on the other hand Tanjiro being optimistic as always informs Inosuke that it might be a guardian spirit trying to protect the town, to which Zenitsu takes a deep breath and entitles them both country bumpkins.
