Fate/Stay Night

All Fate Franchise Releases: 2024 and Beyond

Fate fans are excited about the upcoming remaster of Fate/stay Night, the original 2004 visual novel that launched a multi-billion-dollar multimedia franchise. The remaster will follow the storyline of Réalta Nua, the 2007 PlayStation 2 version that removed the original’s eroge scenes and added the anime’s voice actors. The remaster will be released outside Japan with English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language options for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Fate/stay Night is a branching story with three routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven’s Feel. Each route alternates plot and theme, starring different heroines and taking a different perspective on Shirou’s ideals. The series was first adapted in 2006 by Studio Deen, which incorporated elements from Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven’s Feel to flesh out side characters. Fate’s real surge into the anime mainstream came in 2011 with Fate/Zero.

Fate/Samurai Remnant DLC

Fate/Samurai Remnant is an action role-playing game released in September 2023. Players control Miyamoto Iori, a historical samurai-turned-master, as he navigates a corrupted Holy Grail War during the Edo period. The game features popular servants like Gilgamesh and Jeanne d’Arc, as well as new servants like Miyamoto Musashi. Starting in February 2024, three downloadable chapters will be available.

Witch on the Holy Night Anime Film

Ufotable is set to release an anime film adaptation of Witch on the Holy Night, a story about Aoko Aozaki, a Magician whose family can access the ‘Root’. The film, originally released as a visual novel in 2012, has been enhanced with voice acting and has a singular ending. Although there are two visual novel sequels in the works, the movie is expected to be the best choice, as Ufotable has proven themselves with previous adaptations.

Fate/Strange Fake Anime Series

In July 2023, Aniplex and A-1 Pictures released Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn, a 1-hour TV Special based on Ryogo Narita’s light novel series. The anime follows an alternate Holy Grail War in the United States, featuring’strange’ servants with unusual abilities. The series, originally published as an April Fool’s prank, was later re-released as a novel in 2009 with illustrations by Morii Shizuki and an afterword by the author.

In 2014, both a novel and manga series were announced, and a trailer was made. The anime television special, produced by A-1 Pictures, premiered in July 2023, adapting most of the chapters of the first volume. The anime television series adaptation is set to premiere in December 2024, with Whispers of Dawn serving as a prologue.

Fate Extra

Fate/Extra is a spinoff series set in an alternate universe where a Grail War is held on a supercomputer on the moon, called the Moon Cell. It began as a PSP game in 2010 and introduced three new routes with different Servants. Despite its popularity, it spawned a series of its own, with Red Saber becoming a prominent character. Fate/Extra CCC, Fate/Extra CCC FoxTail, Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, Fate/Extella Link, and Fate/Extella Last Encore are all spinoffs of the series. The anime adaptation, Fate/Extra Last Encore, tells an original story in the universe of Extra, with a melancholic and distant atmosphere.
